Hermawan Kartajaya, long-time collaborator with marketing legend Philip Kotler, will deliver the keynote address at the conference.

Marketers across the globe need to come up with innovative campaigns as they seek to ensure that their brand remains resilient and top of mind in today’s demanding socio-economic environment.

Not only are companies’ strategic decisions being based on less share of wallet as stagnating economic growth across the globe hits private incomes and corporate earnings, but also as new technologies become increasingly embedded in business and marketing operations.

It is against this backdrop that the African Marketing Confederation’s (AMC’s) third annual conference will be held in Kenya’s historic trading hub, Mombasa, between 25 and 27 September 2024.

“The conference promises a fantastic networking opportunity, the chance to delve into brand resilience in economically uncertain times, hear solutions implemented by peers in the industry, as well as providing delegates some down time at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort,” says Irene Gregory, CEO of South Africa’s IMM Institute, a founding member of the AMC.

Visionary in modern marketing

Adds Helen McIntee, AMC President: “The keynote address will be given by Hermawan Kartajaya, who is a globally recognised visionary in modern marketing, renowned for his collaboration with Philip Kotler, the Father of Modern Marketing, in co-authoring 12 influential books since 1998.”

This year’s conference will also welcome delegates from the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), with which the AMC signed a memorandum of understanding in May this year. Representatives from the CIM (UK) will again be in attendance as well.

South African marketers wishing to attend the conference can contact the IMM Institute at info@imminstitute.co.za before the end of July to secure early bird tickets with a discount of 20%, or before the end of August for a discount of 10%.
