CHARTERED MARKETER (AFRICA)
By our African Marketing Confederation News Team | 2024
Applications for continent’s highest professional marketing designation are now open. Two-day orientation coincides with Mombasa conference
The second group of candidates to participate in the African Marketing Confederation’s prestigious Chartered Marketer (Africa) programme will commence their journey immediately after the upcoming 2024 AMC Conference being held in Mombasa, Kenya in late September.
Seasoned African marketers who successfully apply to participate in the CM(A) programme will then be on their way to achieving the continent’s highest professional marketing designation.
A two-day orientation for the latest intake of candidates takes place on 28-29 September at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa in Mombasa. It is being held immediately after the 2024 AMC Conference, which runs from 25-27 September at the same venue. For candidates who cannot attend in person, the orientation will be available via live stream.

“We invite seasoned marketers with proven expertise and leadership in the field to apply for this unique and intensive programme,” says AMC President, Helen McIntee.
“Designed to elevate careers and establish candidates as leaders in marketing excellence, all applicants must undergo a rigorous application and review process where only the top candidates will be selected to pursue Africa’s most coveted marketing designation.”
Free attendance at the third annual AMC conference
As an added bonus, the African Marketing Confederation is offering all successful CM(A) candidates free attendance at the conference.
“Should your application for the CM(A) programme be accepted, we encourage you to make the most of your time in the beautiful city of Mombasa by registering to attend the conference, which takes place directly before the orientation,” McIntee explains.
The first two candidates to attain their Certificate of Chartered Marketer (Africa) status – Kugandrie Govender and Tanya James – were honoured at an Awards Breakfast held in Johannesburg in April.
The Chartered Marketer (Africa) is the first Pan-African professional marketing designation awarded to senior marketers in recognition of their marketing experiences and skills. The programme is unique, the application process is rigorous and of the highest quality, and culminates in the submission of a high-level white paper or case study. This is peer-reviewed by the AMC academic team.
