Sub Committees

AMC’s Education and Membership Committee

The AMC’s Education and Membership Committee is committed to assisting in the skills enhancement of marketing professionals on the continent, ensuring qualification mobility around the globe. To these ends the Committee is currently focusing on the following projects:
  • The Chartered Marketer (Africa) programme (set to be launched early in the new year) is the recognition of an individual’s professional status as one of Africa’s distinguished marketing practitioners and validates a commitment to best marketing practices, continued self-development and a dedication to excellence in practical and/or academic marketing applications in Africa.
  • The harmonisation of educational programmes offered by the AMC member countries which includes a mapping of each programme against world best standards and practices.
  • The offering of excellent short courses to allow members to upskill in the various areas of marketing.

The AMC’s Events Committee

The AMC’s Events Committee is dedicated to offering quality and frequent networking and communication opportunities for marketing professionals in Africa to exchange ideas and connect with like-minded individuals.
  • The first event being the AMC relaunch on the 30th September 2021
  • The Africa wide AMC Marketing Conference is planned for March next year.
  • This Committee will soon start AMC weekly virtual networking functions with guest speakers from around the continent.

The AMC Publishing Committee

The AMC Publishing Committee will ensure that all members of the AMC member associations are kept up-to date with trends, snippets of interest, new happenings in the profession, both in Africa and globally.
  • This Committee has worked extremely hard to produce this new look, trendy website, which will be constantly populated and updated going forward.
  • This Committee is also proud to announce the relaunch of Strategic Marketing for Africa magazine just in time for the AMC relaunch as well as the Strategic Marketing for Africa daily articles appearing on the AMC Website. (All members are encouraged to check these on a daily basis so as to keep up to date with what’s happening in the marketing world).
  • The Committee is also looking at producing an AMC Yearbook, highlighting the best articles and will also be printing an AMC Case Study Journal showing African success stories.

The AMC Research Committee

  • Soon to be convened this Committee will partner with AMC member associations, academics and corporates to research, ask the right questions and find solutions to the marketing challenges facing us on the Continent.

    Dr Kin Kariisa

    Dr. Kin Kariisa is an extraordinary force at the helm of Next Media Services, a conglomerate encompassing NBS TV, Nile Post, Sanyuka TV, Next Radio, Salam TV, Next Communication, Next Productions, and an array of other influential enterprises. His dynamic role as Chief Executive Officer exemplifies his unwavering commitment to shaping media, business, and community landscapes.
    With an esteemed academic journey, Dr. Kariisa’s accolades include an Honorary PhD in exemplary community service from the United Graduate College inTexas, an MBA from United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya, a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Huazong University in China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Makerere University.
    Dr. Kariisa pursued PhD research in Computer Security and Identity Management at Security of Systems Group, Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands. As a dynamic educator, he has shared his expertise as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at both Makerere University and Radboud University.

    Dr Kin did his PhD research in Computer Security and Identity Management at Security of Systems Group, Radbond University in Nigmegen, Netherlands. He previously served as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and Radbond University in Netherlands.

    Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.

    • Other current and previous roles played by Dr Kin Kariisa:
    • Lecturer of e-Government and Information Security to graduate students at Makerere University, Kampala and Radbond University in the Netherlands
    • Director of Eco Bank Uganda Limited, one of the largest banks in Africa
    • Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters, an umbrella industry association for all Television, Radio and online broadcasters in Uganda.
    • Chairman of Board of Directors of Nile Hotel International, that owns the leading hotel in Uganda, Kampala Serena Hotel.
    • Chairman of Board of Directors of Soliton Telmec Uganda, the leading telecom company in Optic fibre business managing over 80% of optic fibre in Uganda.
