AMC, TICON Africa Confabs Launched For Innovation

The African Marketing Confederation (AMC) and Technology Information Confederation (TICON) Africa have announced a joint annual conference to be held from August 20–22, 2025, in Accra, Ghana. Themed “Enabling Africa’s Tech Future: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence,” the event aims to unite marketing and ICT professionals to foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth across the continent.

 

Key highlights will include expert-led workshops, the launch of the TICON Africa IT Magazine, and the presentation of 11 ICT excellence awards. Emphasis will be placed on empowering women and youth, promoting cybersecurity, and establishing universal ICT standards to position Africa as a global digital leader.

 

AMC will unveil new initiatives, including a qualification framework tailored to Africa’s marketing needs and the launch of two global platforms: the Confederation of the Supply Chain of Africa and the World Marketing Council. The conference will also address cutting-edge topics like AI-driven marketing, purpose-driven branding, and the human side of marketing.

 

Supported by the Ghana Tourism Authority, the event is expected to boost Ghana’s status as a tourism and innovation hub while fostering a shared vision for Africa’s socio-economic advancement through the synergy of marketing and technology.

    With an esteemed academic journey, Dr. Kariisa’s accolades include an Honorary PhD in exemplary community service from the United Graduate College inTexas, an MBA from United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya, a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Huazong University in China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Makerere University.
    Dr. Kariisa pursued PhD research in Computer Security and Identity Management at Security of Systems Group, Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands. As a dynamic educator, he has shared his expertise as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at both Makerere University and Radboud University.

    Dr Kin did his PhD research in Computer Security and Identity Management at Security of Systems Group, Radbond University in Nigmegen, Netherlands. He previously served as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and Radbond University in Netherlands.

    Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.

    • Chairman of Board of Directors of Nile Hotel International, that owns the leading hotel in Uganda, Kampala Serena Hotel.
    • Chairman of Board of Directors of Soliton Telmec Uganda, the leading telecom company in Optic fibre business managing over 80% of optic fibre in Uganda.
