Multinational alcoholic beverage company Diageo has appointed Bodam Taiwo as Marketing Director, Africa Partner Markets.

Her remit now spans Africa, excluding Southern Africa – a region that she calls “an incredibly diverse collection of markets, consumers, cultures and business realities”.

Taiwo moves up from her previous role of Customer Marketing Director, West and Central Africa for Diageo, a position she held since March 2025.

Prior to that, she was Head of Portfolio, Bond & Connect, Nigeria for the world’s second-largest producer and seller of wines and spirits. Pernod Ricard. In that role, she drove the strategic consumer marketing vision, building local brand plans in collaboration with the commercial teams and supporting the implementation of the plans in Nigeria.

She also spent almost four years with the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company in Nigeria, and more than four years with Guinness Nigeria.

Energised by the complexity

Discussing her new role in a LinkedIn post, Taiwo says: “It’s a big brief. A beautiful one. And one I don’t take lightly. I’m excited by the scale. I’m energised by the complexity. And I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, building and contributing across this incredible continent.”

She continues: “I’ve always believed that the best opportunities are the ones that stretch you.”

Reports Marketing Edge Nigeria: “Taiwo brings more than 18 years of experience building and scaling consumer brands across sub-Saharan Africa. Her career spans senior marketing and commercial leadership roles at Diageo Africa, Pernod Ricard and Brown-Forman; three of the world’s most significant spirits companies, giving her a rare cross-portfolio perspective on how global brands succeed in African markets without losing local relevance.”
