As the members of the Ethiopian Marketing Professionals Association bask in the excitement of the country being named as host of the 2027Africa Commerce Convergence Summit, of which the AMC Conference forms part, EMPA members and friends met in Addis Ababa to celebrate the achievement.
Says the EMPA in a social media post: “We came together for The Road to Addis to celebrate Ethiopia’s successful bid to host the Africa Commerce Convergence Summit (ACCS) in 2027. And what a celebration it turned out to be!
“We reconnected with familiar faces, welcomed new ones, exchanged ideas, played games, shared food and drinks, and found new opportunities to connect and collaborate. There was laughter, energy and a wonderful sense of community.”
As the EMPA points out, achievements like this are never the work of one person or one organisation. They belong to the people who show up, contribute and believe in what’s possible together.
The gathering on Thursday, 15 October at the WeVenture Hub provided a fun-filled moment of celebration as the hard work of planning to host next year’s conference begins.
“So much to celebrate, and even more to look forward to!” commented one local marketing professional.
“I honestly can’t wait for more sessions like this. Well done Ethiopian Marketing Professionals Association team. Here’s to many more celebrations to come,” added another.
The ICT Association Ethiopia, which will be the host of the ICT conference which forms part of the 2027Africa Commerce Convergence Summit, weighed in with its own congratulations. “Well done team! We look forward to successful collaboration with EMPA and partners towards this milestone summit,” the ICT Association Ethiopia said.
Four conferences will converge in Addis
In total, Ethiopia will concurrently host four conferences: the 2027 Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) conference, the 2027 African Supply Chain Confederation (ASCON) conference, the 2027 Federation of African Creative Economies (FACE) conference, and the 2027 African Marketing Confederation conference.
Together, the four conferences form the Africa Commerce Convergence Summit (ACCS). This convergence recognises that the four professional sectors are increasingly intertwined and playing a vital role in the economic development of the continent.
