By our African Marketing Confederation News Team | 2026

Participants challenged to identify, articulate and commercialise the cultural assets that make their brand ready for a global audience.

While the 2026 AMC Conference gets underway on Wednesday, 23 September in the Zambian city of Livingstone, delegates are being invited to a pre-conference masterclass taking place on Tuesday, 22 September at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort.

The masterclass topic is ‘Leveraging African Culture and Heritage to Build African Brands’. This hands-on masterclass challenges participants to identify, articulate and commercialise the cultural assets that make their brand impossible to copy – and ready for the global shelf.

It is being facilitated by Mabel Mung’omba, a marketing, branding and business development consultant. She is the Chief Executive Officer of two companies she co-founded, namely Belcomm Limited and Upstart Skills Bank.

Participants will leave the masterclass with:

  • A clearer understanding of their brand’s cultural value.
  • A practical framework for building heritage-led brands.
  • A compelling global positioning narrative.
  • An action plan for taking their brand from local relevance to global appeal.

The masterclass takes place from 9am-1pm and is followed by an afternoon river cruise. Register here: https://bookings.accsummit.org/register

Conference is the fifth iteration of the AMC’s flagship gathering

The 2026 AMC Conference, hosted by the Zambia Institute of Marketing, kicks off at Avani Victoria Falls Resort on Wednesday, 23 September and continues through to Friday, 25 September.

While 2026 is the fifth iteration of the AMC’s flagship gathering, Zambia marks the first time that three parallel Africa-wide conferences will converge at a single location, as the African Marketing Confederation joins the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) and the African Supply Chain Confederation (ASCON).

The rationale underpinning this approach is that marketing creates demand, builds brands and connects businesses with customers across Africa. ICT builds the digital pathways, enables innovation, and powers the technologies that drive Africa’s connected economy. Supply chain delivers goods efficiently through logistics, procurement and cross-border trade.

This unprecedented coalesce of professional disciplines under the banner of the Africa Commerce Convergence Summit will enable unique cross-industry collaboration.

The overarching theme for the 2026 event, taking place from 23-25 September, is ‘Africa Rising: From Continental Strengths to Global Impact’.
