Impressive speaker lineup as Zimbabwe’s marketers gather for their association’s 15th annual convention in Victoria Falls.
The 15th Annual Marketers Convention of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) gets underway today (Wednesday, 23 October) at the Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls.

This year’s theme, ‘Disrupt to Redefine: The Future of Marketing Excellence’, will guide discussions on the ever-evolving marketing landscape. The convention brings together a diverse range of professionals – including senior marketing practitioners, business leaders, sales experts, and communications specialists from Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries.
MAZ has put together impressive lineup of speakers to tackle key topics related to disruption and marketing innovation.
Paul Makaya, Founder and Agency Head of Bergast House, will deliver a talk on ‘Disruptive Innovation in Advertising: Redefining the Ad Landscape’, focusing on strategies for keeping brands relevant in a fast-changing world.
Vinod Sharma, CTO of M-Pesa Africa and a leader in fintech, will present on ‘Disruptive Technologies and the Future of E-Commerce’, providing insights into how technology is transforming the digital marketplace.
Dennis Mambure, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs for Absa Bank Botswana, is scheduled to discuss ‘Global Trends in Disruptive Marketing: Lessons from Leading Markets’, focusing on the marketing shifts from major global economies.
Additionally, Agrippa G.R. Mugwagwa, Managing Director of Xarani, the fintech arm of FBC Holdings, delves into ‘The Rise of the Digital/Disruptive Business Model’, analysing the impact of digital transformation across industries.
Unaiswi Nyikadzino, Lead Consultant at StandOwt, shares insights on ‘Driving Business Model Change: The Marketing Advantage’, highlighting how marketers can lead business model transformations.
Furthermore, Eng. Kudzai Chikumbirike, Group Executive Head of Cybersecurity and RegTech, will speak on ‘Ethical AI and Responsive Data Usage’, emphasising the importance of responsible and secure data management practices in today’s marketing world.
Rounding off the keynote speaker line-up is Mabel Mung’omba, CEO of Belcomm Zambia Limited. She explores ‘The Revolving Role of the CMO: From Marketing to Business Leadership’, discussing the expanding role of chief marketing officers in broader business leadership.
The Annual Marketers Convention has long been a prestigious event in Zimbabwe’s marketing calendar. Last year’s event, also held at Elephant Hills, was themed ‘The Future is Now: Marketing, PR, and Communications Winning through Sustainability and Innovation’, where thought leaders shared insights on achieving success through sustainable and innovative practices.
