A.M.C. CONFERENCE
By our African Marketing Confederation News Team | 2025
Apart from ensuring top-class speakers and discussion of important marketing topics relevant to African marketers, the African Marketing Confederation’s conferences have become known for their social and networking activities, many of which expose delegates to the culture, food and tourist attractions of the host country.
The AMC Conference 2025 will be no different. Taking place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana from 20-22 August, it will offer attendees a range of activities that showcase what the West African nation has to offer.
Ghana Tourism Authority Deputy CEO, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, speaks at the launch event
“That’s why we are excited to partner with the Ghana Tourism Authority to put together events that people will talk about for a while – about the host country, the people, the food, the culture, the dance, the dress,” the Secretary General of the AMC, David Balikuddembe, said while speaking at the launch event for the conference last week.
This year’s marketing conference is taking place simultaneously with the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) conference, being held at the same location. In all, 500-plus marketing and IT professionals from across Africa and other parts of the world are expected to attend.
A true hub for tourism in Africa
Representing the Ghana Tourism Authority at the launch was Deputy CEO, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey. In his address, he said the twin conferences were a significant occasion which not only united leaders in marketing and technology across the continent, but also proudly spotlighted Ghana as the home of rich culture and heritage – and a true hub for tourism in Africa.
“The Ghana Tourism Authority sees these events as a timely opportunity to present the vision of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama – to make Ghana the number one tourism destination in Africa,” he stated.
“We not only say ‘akwaaba’ (‘welcome’) in Ghana – we live it. We are warm, we are friendly, and very hospitable. Growing up, we were told that if you receive a guest, your offer your bed for the guest to sleep on … We say that we are more friendly to visitors than even to ourselves. That is why Ghana has become the converging point for the entire Africa; that’s why we say we are the gateway to Africa.”
Among the experiences being planned for the 2025 conference delegates are an immersive cultural evening and a beachside barbecue dinner at one of Ghana’s most stunning coastal locations.
According to the Encyclopaedia Brittanica, Ghana is known lush forests, diverse animal life, and kilometres of sandy beaches along a picturesque coast. It is also celebrated for its rich history – its habitation possibly dating from 10,000 BC – and for being a major slave-trading post with many historic castles and other facilities dating back to that era.
