Nostalgia in marketing

Do you embrace brands that make you feel connected to your roots and hark back to simpler times? A great many consumers do, so marketers are seeing the opportunity and playing on nostalgic memories of the ‘good old days’.

Marketing as a force for good

Encouraging over-consumption and over-spending – to the detriment of all – are accusations frequently levelled at the marketing profession. So, are we in denial or becoming a force for good? African and international marketers and academics give their opinions.

Rise of visual and voice search

The once-simple world of “Google it” is morphing into something far more complex, but potentially rewarding, for Africa’s marketers. We examine how visual and voice search are set to change the game.

The opportunity in African Beauty

Brands that recognise indigenous African beauty practices, and utilise natural ingredients and techniques, have an advantage in this burgeoning market. An industry expert looks at how the African Beauty trend is creating opportunities for market players.

You will find these stories, and much more, in Strategic Marketing for Africa – the voice of African marketing and the official publication of the African Marketing Confederation (AMC). Read it online or download it here. A Print Edition of the magazine is also available.
