Toluwalase Bakare brings a decade of experience in both public and private sectors to drinks and snacks company owned by Coca-Cola
Chi Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading manufacturers of fruit juices, value-added dairy products and snacks, has appointed Toluwalase Bakare as Communications Manager.
In his new role at Chi, which is a part of The Coca-Cola Company, Bakare will lead corporate communications and, among other things, develop new communication channels to boost staff engagement and productivity.

He has around 10 years’ experience spanning PR, brand management, media relations, crisis management, stakeholder engagement, product launches, events planning and management, CSR and digital marketing.
Bakare has conceptualised, developed and executed marketing communication campaigns aimed at meeting the business objectives of brands and organisations in both the public and private sectors.
Responsible for brand building and leveraging opportunities
Prior to his appointment at Chi Limited, he held a communications management role at Tranter IT, an information and communication technology services company based in Lagos, where he was responsible for brand building and leveraging opportunities for the corporate brand.
Bakare began his career at Unimark Limited, a marketing communications consultancy based in Jos, Plateau State. There he worked as a Business Development Executive, servicing brands such as Plateau State Internal Revenue Service and the Center for International Private Enterprise, an NPO operating out of Washington DC.
He subsequently worked with other clients like Coca-Cola, Gordon’s Moringa Dry Gin, Roadshow Logistics Limited, Milli Asset Investment, and Ayoka Farms.
Bakare holds an MBA in Sustainability Studies from Nexford University in the US and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications and Marketing Communications from Ahmadu Bello University in Kaduna State.
Chi Limited was founded in Lagos in 1980. The Coca-Cola Company acquired full ownership in 2019. Its brands include Capri-Sun Orange, Chivita Active Zest, and Hollandia Strawberry Yoghurt Drink.
