George Owusu-Ansah, a supply chain professional with experience in six countries across Africa and Asia, moves from Unilever Ghana.
Unilever, the global FMCG company, has appointed George Owusu-Ansah as the new head of its business operations in Ethiopia.
He moves to his new position in Ethiopia from Ghana, where he was Managing Director of Unilever Ghana.
“I am thrilled to embark on this new journey … following an enriching four-year tenure as Managing Director of Unilever Ghana in my hometown,” Owusu-Ansah says.

In turn, his previous role in Ghana for Unilever has been taken over by Chris Wulff-Caesar, who joins from Friesland Campina in Nigeria, where he was Marketing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, responsible for managing brands and marketing activities across 44 countries. Friesland Campina is a manufacturer of dairy brands.
Tackling business challenges head-on
In a post published on his LinkedIn page, Owusu-Ansah emphasises his commitment to collaborating closely with stakeholders, tackling business challenges head-on, and setting new milestones to positively impact the lives of Ethiopians.
“Once again, I extend heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues in Ghana. Their unwavering support and invaluable contributions have shaped my path. I am also deeply grateful for the warm Ethiopian hospitality. I eagerly look forward to immersing myself in the rich culture and history of this remarkable nation,” he says.
Owusu-Ansah describes himself as a supply chain professional with experience in operations and strategy development across the planning, sourcing, procurement and distributions streams of the supply chain. He has lived and worked in the supply chain in six countries –Ghana, Malawi, China, Singapore, Kenya and Nigeria – across Africa and Asia.
The Unilever website states that Unilever Manufacturing PLC was established in 2015 in Ethiopia.
In 2019, in a move aimed at spurring growth and investment in Ethiopia, the company unveiled a world-class oral care plant at Unilever’s factory in Eastern Industry Zone, Dukem. Dukem is a town in the central Oromia Region, about 37km southeast of Addis Ababa.

He previously served as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and Radbond University in Netherlands.
Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.
