Temidayo Ojo appointed new Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria

Ojo joined the e-commerce platform in 2020 as Head of Planning and Performance, later moving to the Ghana operation, where he became CEO.

E-commerce platform Jumia has appointed Temidayo Ojo as the new Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria. He succeeds Sunil Natraj. 

 

Jumia is an online marketplace that offers a wide range of products – including electronics, fashion and groceries – and facilitates online transactions through its JumiaPay platform. Nigeria is its largest market. 

 

Ojo moves from his previous role as CEO of Jumia Ghana. He has also been Chief Commercial Officer for Jumia Ghana, and prior to that was Jumia’s Head of Planning and Performance.

A statement from the company says his leadership in Ghana was instrumental in driving the business to record-breaking growth levels while building a strong and positive culture within the team. 

 

The statement adds: “Over the years, he has honed his expertise in crafting and executing transformative strategies within the e-commerce, retail and consumer goods sectors. His career trajectory showcases a stellar journey – pioneering e-commerce strategies, optimising financial performance, and spearheading large-scale commercial transformations.”

Ojo holds an MBA in Finance, Strategy and Consulting from IESE Business School and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos.
