South African marketer Khensani Nobanda recognised by peers for her leadership and innovation at Nedbank.
Khensani Nobanda, a senior marketer with South African-based banking giant Nedbank, has been named as the winner of the Marketing Leadership and Innovation Award at the annual Loeries Awards being held in Cape Town.
The Loeries recognise excellence in the marketing and creative industries throughout Africa and the Middle East.
Nobanda is Group Executive: Group Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank and has enjoyed a career of around 20 years in marketing and brand communication.
The Marketing Leadership and Innovation Award was introduced to the Loeries in 2007 and recognises individual excellence in brand communication over an extended period. The committee selected Nobanda from a shortlist of high-flying marketers who demonstrated individual and brand success, both in the market and at the Loeries over the past few years.

“Khensani is a brave marketer who deeply understands the impact of creative excellence,” says Loeries CEO, Preetesh Sewraj, “She is a deserving recipient of the 15th Loeries Marketing Leadership and Innovation Award and her record of creative leadership will undoubtedly inspire another generation of brave marketers.”
This year’s winner has worked across a number of local and multinational organisations. Her first marketing role was at Unilever where she started as the Rama margarine assistant brand manager. Her tenure at Unilever culminated in her running the skin category for Unilever in Africa, Middle East and Turkey, based in Dubai.
She has also worked at alcoholic beverages company Diageo, South African Breweries and mobile communications giant Vodacom, before she joined Nedbank in September 2017.
Nobanda says she is passionate about brands, especially brands that are purpose-led and embody that purpose in everything that they do.
The winners of Loeries 2021 are being announced during Loeries Creative Week, taking place from 20 to 23 October.
