As the busy Black Friday and festive season shopping periods loom, Amazon SA offers preferred time slots for deliveries.
As Amazon South Africa continues its efforts to make inroads into the local market, the e-commerce giant has launched a new service that allows clients to pick a preferred delivery slot.
According to Amazon, this aims to alleviate one of the major pain points for customers: uncertainty as to when their delivery will arrive. Effective immediately, shoppers can choose a morning (8am-1pm), afternoon (1pm-6pm), or evening (5pm-8pm) delivery slot.
“We know South African customers lead busy lives and value convenience and predictability,” comments Robert Koen, Managing Director for Amazon Sub-Saharan Africa.
“With our new delivery time slot options, we’re giving customers greater control and flexibility to receive their packages when it works best for them. They can now plan ahead by scheduling deliveries up to a day in advance and can take advantage of our morning delivery option starting at 8am.”

Koen adds: “These improvements reflect our commitment to constantly refining our service based on customer feedback and local needs.”
The service has the same delivery fee structure as same-day delivery, and customers will continue to pay a small fee for delivery slot options, with no minimum order value. According to Koen, this means that even a single tube of toothpaste can be delivered.
Amazon’s new delivery offering kicks in just ahead of the busy Black Friday and Christmas shopping periods.
The company officially launched its SA-based online shopping service on May 7, 2024.
