The countdown is almost over! The eyes of Africa’s marketing community turn to Accra in Ghana on Wednesday (20 August 2025) as the African Marketing Confederation (AMC) hosts its annual conference.

The gathering, now in its fourth year, has attracted the continent’s most influential marketing leaders, innovators and decision-makers, as well as a number of delegates and top speakers from other parts of the world – including the UK, Germany and Bangladesh.
“This year’s programme is designed to inspire, challenge and connect – with sessions led by trailblazers shaping the future of marketing,” says AMC President, Helen McIntee-Carlisle.
The theme of the 2025 gathering is ‘Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends and Technology’. The focus areas are:
“This year’s conference will focus on the emerging trends, technologies and strategies shaping the future of marketing in Africa,” McIntee explains. “As markets evolve, marketers must adapt to rapid digital transformation, shifting consumer behaviours and economic changes.
“2025 AMC Conference attendees can look forward to compelling insights and dynamic conversations led by influential voices shaping Africa’s marketing future.”
Among the speakers in Accra is Charles Murito, who is Regional Director, Sub Saharan Africa at Google. His topic is ‘Contributing to Africa’s Growth Through Digital Transformation’.
Also taking to the podium are FMCG experts Chris Wulff-Caesar, MD of Unilever Ghana, and Girish Sharma, MD of Guinness Nigeria. Sharma’s topic is ‘Championing Purpose-led Brands Across Africa’, while Wulff-Caesar will talk on ‘Driving Bold Brands and Impactful Growth in Ghana’s Dynamic Market’.
Other top speakers include: Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, prominent Ghanaian marketing academic and marketing thought leader; Matongo Matamwandi, CEO of the Zambia Tourism Agency; Dr Elaine Van Wyk, Chief Marketing Officer at the UXi Group; and Professor Ferhat Anwar, President of the World Marketing Council.
The marketing conference is being held alongside that of the annual Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) Conference. The hosts are the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) and the Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH).
The venue for both gatherings is the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. The conferences run from 20-22 August.
