Gathering told of sponsorship and leveraging opportunities available at three key industry events to take place in SA and Ghana.
Ahead of the annual IMM Marketing Excellence Awards, the IMM Institute recently hosted a Partners in Excellence Event, with the aim of providing an opportunity for local marketers to mingle with those in the industry who have made significant contributions to the industries of marketing and supply chain management.
MC Govan Whittles speaks the event hosted by the IMM Institute in Johannesburg
The South African-based institute is one of the founder members of the African Marketing Confederation (AMC). Its IMM Marketing Excellence Awards and gala dinner honour the country’s top achievers and campaigns in marketing and supply chain.
Comments Irene Gregory, CEO of the IMM Institute: “The objective of this event was to showcase the value and prestige of the awards, while providing a unique networking opportunity for potential sponsors to engage with industry thought leaders.”
The Partners in Excellence Event, held in Johannesburg, was also a forerunner to the annual AMC and Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) conferences, which are being held in the tranquil setting of Ghana’s Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra from 20-22 August 2025.
These Conferences offer marketing and ICT specialists from across Africa the opportunity to engage with other professionals while obtaining insights into key trends and developments pertinent to both disciplines.
Held concurrently but with largely separate agendas and speakers, the conferences recognise the growing convergence of the marketing and IT sectors in the age of AI, the metaverse, digital strategies and big data.
Sponsorship opportunities
Sponsorship slots are still available for the IMM Institute, AMC and TICON Africa conferences.
Speaking during a recent event held in Accra, David Gowu, President of the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa), encouraged Africa’s business sector to consider sponsoring this year’s AMC and TICON Africa conferences.
In doing so, they could take advantage of the exciting opportunities that the conferences offer. These include:
Gowu said the conferences were expected to attract 500-plus delegates, with the goal being to use technology and marketing to enhance Africa’s development. It was also an opportunity to showcase the nation of Ghana, its culture and attractions.
