Global data, insights and consulting company Kantar has announced the appointment of Yasmin Kathoria as Managing Partner for Kantar Consulting in South Africa.
She brings nearly three decades of global brand leadership and consulting experience, including a global directorship at Unilever, where she led teams across six continents.
In a press statement, the company says she combines commercial experience with a deep understanding of people, culture and behaviour to help clients unlock new opportunities for growth.
Kathoria succeeds Eden Lanser, who will move into a consultant and advisory role after leading the business through three consecutive years of growth. Lanser joined Kantar in 2008 and prior to that was with the likes of Diageo and Colgate-Palmolive.
Kathoria joined Kantar Consulting in South Africa in 2022, most recently serving as Partner, Brand Growth Strategy. In her new role she will report to Mark Visser, Global Head of Kantar Consulting.
“Yasmin brings extensive global brand leadership and consulting experience, grounded in a deep understanding of people and culture,” comments Visser.
“She has been an important part of the growth of our South African business, and I’m looking forward to working with her as she takes on this new role. I’d also like to thank Eden for his leadership and the strong foundation he has built.”
Adeola Tejumola, Executive Managing Director for Middle East, Africa and Türkiye at Kantar, adds: “Yasmin’s appointment strengthens the connection between Kantar Consulting and Kantar South Africa. Her combination of commercial experience and human understanding will be valuable as we continue to work together to help our clients find new opportunities for growth.”

New board has a diversity of expertise and draws from sectors including banking, FMCG, insurance, telecommunications and academia.

The new partnership aims to support Vodacom’s evolution from a traditional telecommunications provider to a broader technology company.
