The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) has ushered in a new board for the 2026–2028 term, bringing together seasoned marketing professionals and business leaders to guide the association into its next chapter of growth and professional advancement.
The new leadership was confirmed at the association’s annual general meeting held on 20 October 2026 in Victoria Falls, marking an important moment in MAZ’s governance and continued commitment to strengthening Zimbabwe’s marketing profession.
Leading the new board is Reginald Chihota, Group Managing Director of Fidelity Life Assurance of Zimbabwe Group, as President, with Dr Miriam Mugwati assuming the role of Vice President. The leadership team brings together a wealth of professional experience and strategic insight at a time when marketing is increasingly expected to influence business decisions, strengthen competitiveness and deliver measurable value.
The incoming board comprises Tariro Muchena, Daniel Chipato, Betty Mpala, Dr Maureen Mbondiya, Ralph Wilson, Patrick Murambadoro, Dr Prosper Mutswiri, Stanley Muchenje, Lyndon Nkomo, Gladys Mubaiwa and Nkosana Mapuma.
“One of the defining strengths of the new board is its diversity of professional experience. Drawing on expertise from sectors including banking, FMCG, insurance, telecommunications and academia,” MAZ says in a statement.
“The board brings together seasoned marketers and business leaders with practical experience in marketing strategy, brand development, commercial growth and organisational leadership.
“This cross-sector representation is particularly significant as businesses navigate changing consumer expectations, technological advancement and increasingly competitive markets. The collective experience of the board provides an opportunity to strengthen professional collaboration, encourage the exchange of industry knowledge and reinforce marketing’s role as a strategic business function.”
MAZ extended its appreciation to outgoing board members Irimayi Muzorewa, Admire Ndumo and Joel Gombera, recognising their service and contribution to the organisation’s governance and development.
