By our African Marketing Confederation News Team | 2025
Excitement mounts as the fourth annual African Marketing Confederation conference heads to the West African nation of Ghana.
Marketers across Africa are counting down the days in anticipation of the African Marketing Confederation’s annual conference, to be held between 20 and 22 August 2025 in the tranquil setting of Ghana’s Labadi Beach Hotel. Pre-registration is already open.
A scene from one of the AMC’s past conferences
“This year’s conference will equip marketers with the insights and strategies they need to navigate, and have a competitive edge, in Africa’s rapidly evolving business environment,” says Helen McIntee-Carlisle, AMC President and Co-Founder.
She emphasised that pre-registration is open for those who wish to stay abreast of news around the event, noting that marketing professionals can sign up via this link.
Under the theme, “Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends, and Technology,” the 2025 conference builds on past topics by transitioning from being resilient during and post the Covid-19 pandemic that reshaped the world, to thriving through creative reinvention and strategic renewal.
McIntee-Carlisle explains that consumers, who have had more choices than ever before since the explosion of online and app-based shopping, are increasingly seeking to engage with brands that are authentic.
“As Africa’s markets continue to evolve, marketers must navigate rapid digital transformation, shifting consumer behaviours, and economic fluctuations. Maintaining brand trust is essential for long-term customer loyalty and business resilience,” she says.
Over three days, attendees from AMC member associations, as well as marketers from elsewhere, will be hosted by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana in historic Accra, Ghana’s capital city. The marketing conference is being held alongside that of the annual Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) Conference.
Included in the programme are talks covering aspects such as emerging market dynamics, cultural shifts, and evolving consumer preferences.
McIntee-Carlisle adds that “it is not just enough for marketing professionals to be aware of these changing dynamics as they seek to develop engaging campaigns. They also need to take advantage of new systems and processes that better enable brand success and increased engagement with consumers.”
The conference MC is set to be Otumbo Vincent, a thought leader, impact entrepreneur successful author who is dedicated to empowering effective leaders. Among other topics, delegates will hear how to develop the best possible teams as they focus on successful marketing.
Awards evening honours top achievers
“Of course, no AMC conference would be complete without our Annual Gala Awards Dinner, which is a fitting end to the three-day event and will be held on the Friday,” says McIntee-Carlisle.
Awards are presented in the following categories:
After hours, the approximately 500 guests from around 35 countries can enjoy events such as a cultural evening and a barbeque beach dinner at Labadi Beach. Also called La Pleasure Beach, it offers extensive seaside enjoyment.
Showcasing the importance of the conference to Africa’s marketers, and the continent’s economy as a whole, is the lineup of top businesses which have sponsored past events. These include Ethiopian Airlines, Nation Media Group, and Sarova Hotels & Resorts. Sponsorship slots are still open. Sponsorship details are available here.
