Financial Services company Zamara Kenya has announced the appointment of Cathy Gathu as its new Head of Brand, Marketing and Communication. She joins from Ogilvy Africa Kenya, where she held the position of Managing Partner.
“[Cathy] has spent years helping brands translate business ambition into purposeful marketing strategy,” the company says in a statement posted on LinkedIn.
“And now she joins us to lead the charge in growing our brand equity, driving engagement, and shaping the next chapter of Zamara’s transformation, especially as we expand our presence in the individual and retail financial wellness space.”

With years of experience spanning corporate marketing in the insurance sector and strategic roles at marketing and advertising agencies, she brings deep integrated brand and marketing expertise to the table, Zamara states.
“Her career reflects a rare blend of big-picture strategic thinking and hands-on execution across media, digital, CX, creative, and retail platforms.”
Gathu has more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy and integrated marketing communications. Among her previous roles has been Managing Director of Scanad Kenya, a marketing services agency, and Group Chief Marketing Officer at Resolution Insurance Kenya.
