“This multi-division role spans iconic brands … the mission is clear: make the world’s leading beauty brands accessible and relevant to the Nigerian consumer,” Marinho says in a LinkedIn post announcing her L’Oréal appointment.
“It’s early days, but the ambition is bold: to crack Nigeria’s booming e-commerce space and drive digital growth in one of the most dynamic beauty markets on the continent.”
A bold new beginning
Marinho, a graduate of the University of Nottingham in the UK, adds in the post: “After years of honing my FMCG expertise at global giant PepsiCo – learning from and working alongside some of the most brilliant minds and expert teams in the world, building brand and go-to-market strategies for emerging beauty brands and retailers, and growing my own beauty community platform, this opportunity feels both full-circle and like a bold new beginning.”
L’Oréal’s recent projects in Nigeria include the launch of the Garnier range across the nation’s e-retailers and the e-retail rollout of L’Oréal Professionnel products such as Absolut Repair Oil.
Comments Trendtype, the emerging markets consultancy: “Regulatory frameworks in Nigeria support e-commerce expansion, influencing L’Oréal’s strategic initiatives to capitalise on the burgeoning online retail sector.”
