Experienced marketer and ad man returns to a role he left three years ago and will market various TV channels and streaming services.
Colin Asiimwe has been appointed Head of Marketing by pay broadcaster MultiChoice Uganda, returning to a position that he relinquished in March 2022.
In his role he is responsible for the marketing of DStv Uganda and GOtv Uganda, as well as MultiChoice’s streamer Showmax and its M-Net-run Pearl Magic TV channels.

Asiimwe replaces Lois Aber Kwikiriza, who is now Marketing and Brand Manager CIB and BCB at Stanbic Bank Uganda. Kwikiriza filled Asiimwe’s role at Multichoice when he left in 2022 to join Wave Mobile Money.
According to CEO East Africa Magazine, Asiimwe has also worked at VMLY&R, an integrated marketing agency in Kenya, where he was the Head of Strategy and Planning.
“He cast his advertising roots in advertising at Scanad Uganda – the WPP ScanGroup’s Uganda unit where he was an Account Director between November 2011 and November 2012,” the magazine reports.
“He then headed to QG Group Uganda (Saatchi & Saatchi) as Client Services Director between November 2012- October 2014, before proceeding to become the Uganda Country Manager for Tonic International (a creative advertising & branding agency out of Dubai) for a year.”
On his LinkedIn profile, Asiimwe describes himself as “a seasoned marketing executive and strategist with over 15 years of experience driving business growth and fostering strong client relationships across various sectors. I have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns and growth strategies.
“I have spearheaded campaigns across East Africa, delivering consistent results in brand innovation, growth and customer acquisition including a range of projects such as the launch of Uganda’s first premium local content channel and the strategic transformation of marketing agencies,” he writes.
