Ruigu brings over 14 years of market research experience across East Africa to her new role in Uganda.
Ipson has announced that Ruth Ruigu has been appointed Country Manager for its operations in Uganda.
She moves from Ipson in Kenya, where she was most recently IUU Qualitative Service Line Director. Prior to that, she was Research Director at Consumer Insight, a market research company based in Nairobi.
Overall, Ruigu brings over 14 years of market research experience across East Africa to her new role in Uganda.

Consistently stepped forward to contribute
In a LinkedIn post announcing her appointment, Nick Coates, CEO for sub-Saharan Africa at Ipsos, comments: “This reflects how we build leadership across SSA. Ruth progressed within our organisation – not because of tenure, but because she consistently stepped forward to contribute beyond her role.
“She understands what Ugandan clients need and has the experience to deliver it. Uganda is a market with serious potential, and Ruth has both the local understanding and the operational capability to unlock it.”
He adds: “Internal appointments like this aren’t just about succession planning. They’re about ensuring our country leadership has deep market knowledge and proven execution capability.”
Ruigu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economic with IT from Maseno University in Kenya. She describes herself as having “a natural curiosity about consumer behaviour”.

He previously served as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and Radbond University in Netherlands.
Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.
