Association is inviting expressions of interest from individuals and corporations as it aims to develop the profession in the country.

The Ethiopian Marketing Professionals Association, which is one of the newer members of the African Marketing Confederation, has embarked on a membership drive as it seeks to realise its goal of increase membership by 50 percent.
With over 300 members and six executive committees driving its activities, the EMPA aims to serve as a catalyst for the development of the marketing profession in the country.
Under the theme ‘Your network is your net worth’, the association is inviting expressions of interest from individuals and corporations.
“Join EPMA and immerse yourself in the pinnacle of marketing excellence. Join a vibrant community, access invaluable resources, and seize the opportunity to lead and innovate,” the association says.
Among the membership benefits are quarterly events that provide valuable insights and networking opportunities. The most recent event was held on 27 June at the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa, in partnership with BGI Ethiopia, one of the country’s leading breweries. Other event partners were 251 Communications & Marketing PLC, and Coca-Cola Beverages Africa – Ethiopia.
Keynote speakers were Behailu Ayele, Corporate Communication & CSR Director with BGI Ethiopia, and Suleiman Ngondi, Sustainability & Communications Manager at Uganda Breweries. Their topic for the evening was ‘Marketing for Social Good’.
There was also a panel discussion that featured four panellists and was moderated by Rahwa Gebremeskel, GM at Unbox Marketing & Consultancy.
Core mission of the EMPA
The core mission of the EMPA is to provide a professional platform for nurturing and advancing the marketing profession while upholding ethical standards. Through professional development programmes, research initiatives, knowledge management, and publications, EMPA strives to contribute to the growth and integrity of the marketing industry in Ethiopia.
Organisations wishing to join as corporate members have three membership options: Platinum, Gold and Silver.

As a dynamic educator, he has shared his expertise as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at both Makerere University and Radboud University.
Dr Kin did his PhD research in Computer Security and Identity Management at Security of Systems Group, Radbond University in Nigmegen, Netherlands. He previously served as a lecturer of e-Government and Information Security at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and Radbond University in Netherlands.
Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.
