The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) successfully concluded its 15th Annual Marketers Convention at the scenic Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls at the weekend.
It brought together a diverse range of professionals – including senior marketing practitioners, business leaders, sales experts, and communications specialists from Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries – under the theme ‘Disrupt to Redefine: The Future of Marketing Excellence’.
Day one of the convention set the stage for thought-provoking insights. Delegates were captivated by Paul Makaya, Founder & Agency Head at Bergast House, as he delivered a powerful presentation on ‘Disruptive Innovation in Advertising: Redefining the Ad Landscape’. His vision for reshaping advertising through bold, innovative strategies sparked many discussions.
Day two kicked off with Abraham Makamba discussing ‘Generative AI for Business Intelligence’, followed by Dennis Mambure’s presentation on ‘Global Trends in Disruptive Marketing’.
The official opening ceremony was then conducted by MAZ’s outgoing President, Lillian Mbayiwa.
Mabel Mun’gomba explored the ‘Evolving Role of the CMO’, and Eng. Kudzai C. Chikumbirike led a session on ‘Ethical AI and Data Usage’. Vinod Sharma joined delegates virtually to present on ‘Disruptive Technologies and the Future of E-Commerce’.
The third and final day saw the 15th Annual Marketers Convention end on a powerful note with two speakers who inspired new thinking on marketing’s role in business transformation.
Unaiswi Nyikadzino, delivered an impactful session on ‘Driving Business Model Change: The Marketing Advantage’, exploring how marketing leaders can drive innovation and create lasting change.
This was followed by Agrippa Mugwagwa, who spoke on ‘The Rise of the Digital/Disruptive Business Model’, shedding light on the impact of digital evolution on modern business.
“A huge thank you to all attendees for making this convention a success, and to our speakers for guiding us toward a bold future in marketing. Here’s to redefining excellence together,” MAZ said in a social media post.
The association’s attention now turns the 2024 Superbrand Awards Dinner on 22 November at Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre in Harare as MAZ celebrates ‘Brands Influencing Positive Social Change’.
