Taazima Kala, GM of a Gaborone-based public relations agency, elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Botswana-based public relations practitioner Taazima Kala has been elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the Royal Chartered body for public relations professionals.
The CIPR Fellowship is reserved for senior PR practitioners who have made an exceptional contribution to the industry and to the Institute.
Fellows are recognised for their leadership, influence, and commitment to raising professional standards, influencing global practice, and championing more inclusive, ethical communications.

Kala’s Fellowship – believed to be the first awarded to a Botswana practitioner – was announced last week, along with three other new CIPR Fellows.

“Becoming a Fellow is a profound honour and a culmination of years of commitment to strengthening our profession. This recognition is not just personal; it affirms that the work and talent emerging from Botswana can shape the global future of public relations,” says Kala.
She currently serves as General Manager and Chief Consultant of leading Gaborone-based communications consultancy, Hotwire.
Kala is also Chair of the CIPR International Committee, Group Chair Representative for the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, and EDI Champions Group Chair Representative.
She has been a contributor to Strategic Marketing for Africa, the magazine of the African Marketing Confederation.

Dr Kin did his postgraduate courses in Strategic Business Management, Strategic Leadership Communication and Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives at Harvard University, Boston USA.
