The inaugural event took place in Mathare North, where the spirit of giving shone brightly as more than 300 families hit by the floods were provided with essential food and non-food items.
“Every contribution aimed to alleviate the burdens these families face in their time of need,” MSK said in a statement posted on social media.
“None of this would have been possible without the remarkable generosity of our esteemed partners. MSK extends heartfelt gratitude to Unga Group PLC, Unilever, EastWest Fashions, Ropem Telcom, African Elite Group Ltd , New Revenue Solutions Africa, Caribbean Credit Kenya, and all others who generously donated, both in cash and in kind.
“A special acknowledgment is also due to SHOFCO, our esteemed distribution partner, whose unwavering support and dedication ensured the smooth execution of our mission.”
Power of collective action
According to MSK, the Caravan of Hope initiative stands as a testament to the power of collective action and the resilience of the human spirit.
The next phase of the initiative is focusing on ensuring that flood-affected families have the necessary resources to send their children back to school with dignity and pride.
MSK is now appealing for further donations, whether in cash or in kind. Essential school items are greatly needed. These include backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, uniforms and shoes.
“Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these resilient families,” the society said.
