UMS’ Director of Ethics and Integrity, Viola Mboneko Rusoke, honoured at Girls 4 Girls Uganda’s annual summit in Kampala.
Uganda Marketers Society member Viola Mboneko Rusoke has won the Mentor of the Year award from the Girls 4 Girls Uganda community.
Girls 4 Girls Uganda is a non-profit organisation that empowers young women with the skills, courage and vision to become leaders in public and private sectors.
“Viola’s dedication to empowering others shines through her role as Director of Ethics and Integrity [at Uganda Marketers Society] and as an inspiring mentor,” UMS says in a social media post.
“She was defined to be a mentor that gives 1000% of herself, full of energy, engages the mentees, encourages them to read, even lending and buying them books and doing follow ups on their progress, transforming them into courageous leaders at their workplaces and business.”
Rusoke received the highest-ranking award at the annual Girls for Girls summit held at the Sheraton Kampala hotel on 25 October 2025. This year’s theme was ‘Embracing Change and Leading with Courage’ – a bid to instil courage and leadership among young women.

“Mentorship is more than guidance. It is a powerful responsibility to shape futures and inspire growth,” UMS says.
“Taking on mentorship cultivates leadership, empathy, and a legacy that transcends careers. It is a chance to make a lasting difference by sharing knowledge and supporting the next generation.
“Viola also encourages reverse mentorship. This means seniors should allow juniors to share their unique skills, insights, and perspectives.
“These are often related to technology and generational trends. This approach helps senior leaders gain fresh insights while empowering younger employees with leadership experience.”
UMS ends its post with a plea to members: “Let Viola Mboneko Rusoke’s recognition inspire us to embrace mentorship and volunteerism as cornerstones of professional and personal success!”
In her day job, Rusoke is Team Lead at Titanium Uganda, a marketing agency that specialises in innovative marketing and sales solutions.
